Custom Decaled Gunship parts!

I think that it is worth doing, but most people would only spare a few bucks if they saw a cool one. I would buy one for $2-$4, but that is it.

I wouldn't pay more then $5 max for a two or three sticker set. Anyway, I'd like to see the three creatures from the execution arena in Episode 2. I might buy them then.

I'd rather pay a bit for the decal than a lot extra the decal applied to the part, considering if anyone wants to decal the gunship, they have the gunship.

Well, obviously, the part can be used for more than just the gunship (somehow maybe) and it is hard (believe it or not) for some people to apply waterslide decals So, I figured it would be better this way. Plus, if I sold the decals, and the decaled parts separately then people would just buy the decals (for less) and apply them to the part, and now I have competition.

If I were you I would sell the decal and not the whole part. People are more likely to buy alot of the decals versus spending alot on one part.

If you notice me on flickr you will see I am trying to sell sets of decals more then actual decaled parts. You can also offer a fee for service if someone wants YOU to apply the decal for them and this way you can do both.

I am not sure how big the decal size is but I wouldn't sell it for more then 2$ only because most of the CW followers are kids and will complain about the price.

Not really, quite a few are adults, and can afford these things.

ONLY about 15-18% of the LEGO community are adults. Most of the remaining 85% are kids.

You want to gear your business to the masses not to the few.

If someone buys your decals and uses it and sells it you still made your money. I said offer both anyway this way you grab both markets and regardless of what you do you will find competition. There will be ATLEAST one person on this forum (alone) that will use your good idea (and this IS a good one) and market it himself. And I don't mean me.

Whatever you do I wish you good luck. You are a nice guy and can offer a nice product as well.

I'm going to be honest I wouldn't pay too much for these (maybe at the most $1 for 1) because it only covers one piece and if I did buy it I'd want several sets. Also I'd want it to be removable in case I don't want it any more.

I agree with TD. It should be removable in case we don't want that design anymore, and you should sell bundlepacks with discounts, so say $1.00 for 1, $2.75 for 3 and $4.00 for 5. That way people will wnat to buy bulk, because of the discount. I think those would be resonable prices for these.

That's what I was saying. I'd think it would be more profitable that way.

It might work, but it all depends on how many people want to customize their gunship. Looking at the parts price and the size of the decals $5 max is a good price. You will make some profit and it's still an attractive price.
