Brick by Brick: "A Bright Idea"

Rook's June MID Month MOC: Brick Virus

---------------------------BREAK---------------------------

Narrator: "Wait what the FLOCK is Rook doing posting his MOC in this area. Wait a minute... maybe he has a plan."

Global Warning System: "... Attention all citizens: There's a virus and its eating peoples brains, destroying their creativity! ...

Narrator: "It must be those single purpose bricks!"

Global Warning System: "... The Single-Use Brick Virus has taken over the minds of young builders everywhere. This is a state of emergency. Attention all citizens...

Rook: “Wait single purpose bricks!? My muffin lovin' bleep bleep bleep... Embarassed

---------------------------BREAK---------------------------

Yeah ok so there's no such thing as a "Single-Use" brick like Rook said. So this is what this thread is all about:

Find a piece/element preferably a "unique/useless/one-trick-pony brick", but it doesn't have to be. Just remember this in the techniques section. So your objective is to show us alternate uses for an element. Good example is a minifigures arms can be ripped off and used as fingers for a robot. So...

Tell us which piece you've chosen or post one image of just that piece. Then show us three other images (see below) and links if needed.

IMAGE 1: The element you've chosen.
IMAGE 2: How you used it.
IMAGE 3: How someone else used it.
IMAGE 4: How The Lego Group used it. (Show set image. Images on www.Brickset.com work well.)

Sample:

IMAGE 1: Element: Part 61287 Minifig, Headgear Helmet Astronaut Bubble Half

IMAGE 2: By Rook: Light Bulb

IMAGE 3: By Blackninjatom: Cockpit

IMAGE 4: By The Lego Group: Helmet

Nice Idea rook. The "NPU" group on flickr is doing something similar. It is a monthly challenge to use the chosen element in a new way. I may try using the same piece as well.

I agree. This will show us what we can do with other pieces that we would not normally use. Smile

1. BL entry.

2. My G01D unit, used as part of a bot's head.

3. I have never see this part used, but I bet it has been.

4.The set.

That's all for my first contribution. Smile

Failz! I see one image, not four! The point of this thread is to be able to see the piece and several ways to use it. You’ve shown us only one way and we have to guess which piece it is! Mad

That's a nice group to look in if you need that second picture probably.

I gave links to the piece and set on Bricklink.

Just place them on the post. I think it will be easier for viewers to see it in one page versus surfing for them.

Minifig Hand

One of the ways I've used it.

Propeller blade

How others use it for the wings and tail.

How Lego uses the minifig hand for hands.

I was thinking the minifig hand would be well known enough to not need one.

I actually did. Plus it's not really a contest or like anything is at stake. Wink

Hence the Laughing .

Five words...now!

Don't put "Five Words", it's simply spam and the punishment is the same as posting less than 5 words. -Tac
