Re: What are your ideas for future/long term projects?
I am working on making a big Modern Warfare (1/2) vig. It will include about 14-16 minifigures, a couple vehicles (tank/hum-v), and hopefully a bunch of details from the game, such as wall burns, flags, building destruction, etc. This hasn't really taken off yet but once Christmas rolls around i may be able to pick it up. This probably wont be finished for a while, probably May, if not earlier.

Finally figured out which variant of german armoured car I want to make, the Sdfkz 231 ( http://www.achtungpanzer.com/votw/images/sdkfz231.jpg ), once I complete that with it's complex angles, I'll make a Crusader Tank for my brits.
Re: What are your ideas for future/long term projects?
Well as the longest project in Rook history draws to an end I find myself planning no future long terms projects. This summer I may look into doing a Acclamator-class Heavy Cruiser but this last capital ship has taken so long I find that my desire for creating medium sized ships (10-20 hours) has increased greatly.

You say you want a medium-size ship, huh?

Yeah not SWU, so I'm not really interested.

It has a Wookieepedia page, which does make it SWU, albeit with a very short appearance (it's also in the BSG miniseries). And as if I really have to say this, watch Firefly. We don't care if it holds up progress on the Venator, you are permitted the time to enjoy the best SF series of the last decade.
In any case, it has a much, much more interesting shape than the sad old slab of metal they called a 'Dreadnought'.

Yeah I've seen both Firefly & Serenity. I didn't realize that someone had slipped it into the SWU. Very cool I might have to give it a shot.
"The ship is 269 feet (82 m) long, 170 feet (52 m) at its widest point, and stands 79 feet (24 m) high when landed."
That's 225.5 studs, 143 studs, & 66 studs in Minifig-scale. My Venator is 224 studs long. I think if I do build it I might have to go with a System scale version. Not spending 4 months building it!

Well, watch them both again and you'll be sold on the idea.

I think I might make a 1/2 scale or 3/4 scale version. I've found ships around 100 studs long are pretty cool because they're still small enough that you can actually "play" with them. Your swoosh factor. No swooshing the Venator.

Well, you could throw it, but it would only swoosh for a few seconds.
This only works once.
Re: What are your ideas for future/long term projects?
Depends where you are when you throw it.

A minifig scale version of Serenity with fully decorated interior would be a pretty awesome MOC. The Venator Rook finished is incredible, of course, but Serenity is extremely detailed, and having those small details, like the retractable toilet in Mal's room, would be pretty darn shiny. Not to mention the greebles and hidden storage areas in the cargo hold, the two seperate shuttles and Jayne's wall of guns. Obviously I'm rambling, since no one's ever attempted to do that, but it would be cool if someone did.

Right now I am working a huge moc of a battle scene. There will be a bombed At-te falling of an edge, a droid base, small vehicles and custom clones. I got the idea from the Teth scene in the clone wars movie. It will take up around 3-4 feet of space.
