Halo Pelican Prototype.
So I thought I would be able to keep this underwraps for a little longer but I can't. I am in need of dire help with this one. Tac, Rook and Revo have already helped me with the nose and wing. Now what i need help with is the size. I have the cockpit size correct but I can try to make it larger. The thing I mainly need help with is the size of the body. It needs to be able to sit 12 marines, on each side, and still have room for a small weapons cache and medical supplies. So far the body is 24 studs long, 10 studs wide and about 10 bricks high at the highest point. So in short I want your ideas and tips.

Thats what I have right now. The minifig is in there for scale size. Oh and this is a "prototype". I'm using that title so I can get away with the differences in this model and the version in the games.
Edit: The MOC is multicolored so I know what bricks to buy. When it is all finished it should be dark bley.

I would make the body a 18x8 so you have the room you need, and make the seats 2x2 with 1 stud in between them. With the 1x1 space put a 1x1 modified brick with stud on the side to hold weapons.
Here is an example pic.

I hope this helps.

Re: Halo Pelican Prototype.
Ok thanks for the tip knight. I might use the idea for the weapon holder but the body as to be 24 studs long to make it to scale with the wings and nose.

Ah, ok. I guess it could still work and you would have more space for storage and such.

Re: Halo Pelican Prototype.
You should make the front larger( or the whole thing) and the windows are one big thing. look at this for semi inspiration,
http://www.saber-scorpion.com/lego/halo_pelican.php
make sure you can fit two people in the front in seats and make the tail long enough to fit a scorpion(tank) or warthog(truck thing) under it( well you don't have to.) don't forget the ramp that acts as a door in the back entrance. Put missile pods under the wings and a chain-gun on the front. ( I have an obsession with parenthesis!)

Ah, as I'm into Halo, I've always tried to make one but have failed. Some of the stuff that didn't work out...
Anyways, the troop bay should only be able to hold ten passengers (only ten seats, five on each side) and that the size of the wings and the cockpit is about the same.

Ok thanks guys...
Daisy, how do you think the size of the nose is? Should I make it a little bit bigger? And make the body a little smaller?

Re: Halo Pelican Prototype.
The nose looks slightly too round on the front. If you look at the reference pics on Halopedia, the cockpit area is slowly curving but when it gets to the front, it's much sharper than the side. The body is an okay size right now, it's good if you can fit five figs on each side. Note that when you make the back, it should be almost as big as the length of the cockpit to wings area. This is so that it can hold a Warthog attached to the open area on the back.
Now that you've started this, I think that I'm going to try making another one of my own again...

I'm by no means a Halo expert, or even a Halo player, but shouldn't the windscreen be larger? I imagine it must be pretty had peering out of two little windscreens when you're piloting a huge ship such as this.

I've just looked at some refrence pictures and the cockpit is about the right size, but the cockpit isn't really. You need to make the bit around the cockpit bigger IMO...

Re: Halo Pelican Prototype.
Daisy- I see what you are coming from and I can try to fix the nose but I don't know how close to the actual pelican I can get it, as long as one can easily tell what this is I think it should do. Ok i have a warthog done so I might reduce the size of the trooper bay as it seems a little too big next to the warthog...
Axel- Eh, it should be larger, I probably will make it larger but for now until I am able to it will have to stay this way.
Tac- Huh? "The cockpit is the right size; but the cockpit isn't IMO" WTF are you talking about? So beef up the areasnext to the cock pit and widen the actual cockpit. I can do that. I built it is such away that the cockpt is made up of three different pieces so this should be easy.
Thanks for all of the help guys. I'll post pictures when I have more done.

Forget what I said, the nose/cockpit is fine.

Re: Halo Pelican Prototype.
Bizzle, I think what Tac is trying to say is that the cockpit area is good, but the windshield part where the driver sits doesn't look quite right.

Re: Halo Pelican Prototype.
So far so good Bizzle, and the cargo bay should hold 10 marines, and if you have a warthog, or pieces to build one, hook it under the tail section (saw this on roblox). One other cool idea would be to build a longsword. But, anyway, you have done some good work so far.

I've been trying to make a Pelican for months, but every try failed.
Anyway, good MOC.

Ooh, that's looking really nice DB! I think the coloration is pretty sweet.

Thanks Revo, in the end the whole pelican will be darker blueish gray with highlights of lighter gray....
