80th legion's order 66

Post by Knight on Mon Feb 01, 2010 7:36 pm

Here is a my latest MOC to start of the month! Since my other order 66 MOC was to small to fix anything I decided to go bigger. This is my first 48x48, so here it is.

Main pic.

The sniper tower.

The fight between Commander Knight, and Master Zar Vin.

The troops running on the wet sand.

The small outpost on the rocks.

A close up of the scout, the outpost, and the at-sp.

The full tower.

The water.

The roof of the tower.

The inside of the cave is a small droid mining post.

The minerals.

The top can come off.

Some shots of the at-sp

Enjoy! Smile

So I'm guessing 667th liked your idea? Anyways it looks good, the beach and the water could have been more detailed and interesting. Wink

Actually I don't know, but I was working on this before the idea for that challenge.

I think I'm gonna do the same thing, even if it's not for a corps challenge. Smile

I think smaller it would have been better. Condensing the details while leaving less empty space.

You have a lot of water with no detail and sand as well, though I can see what and why you did it the way you did.

I love the rock region and the tree, very detailed, very interesting and the mining facility. The beach could probably use some greebling? Or the water for that matter.

But all together a good job. Don't mean to sound so critical, but I like to give the advise the way I'd like to receive it and improve on my pieces.

Looks like this should be a WIP. The front half is naked! Razz Nice Tree. Wink

Going off what Rook said, I'd say at least some water splashes would do this MOC some good. Maybe a few troops in the water, or the remains of battle droids. Other than that, a few more greebles wouldn't be too bad, but nice job!

It is meant to be one of those towers, not a tree. Embarassed I am working on some At-RT designs, and some other small stuff to go on it. I will also add some dead droids and maybe some barricades. Smile
Also could you move this to WIP thread?

I can see the tower in the tree, I thought it was supposed to open up or something, almost like a mechanical tree.

I agree with Commander Kill and Rook. I was thinking add some more troops, droids, keep the focal point the battle but have some kind of aftermath or an on going battle around them.

For the water I like the splash idea and even greeble the sand so it looks like its gradually going into the water. One thing I would do is have the water a little higher then the sand it touches like as if it were over it.

I think this MOC has definite potential and I look forward to seeing its development.

This is really goo MOC. You should add some more scenery, but it's still epic. I see you are doing better with your tree building.

Just wondering, is there any reason you use those (not sure what they are called) bricks at the feet (toes)? Have you considered the brick that ends in a claw shape?

I used them because I think they look close to the real thing, and as for the piece you said, I only have them in black and silver. Nice idea though.
