Omaha Beach Invasion
Without further ado, Let me Present to all of you.....
Omaha Beach Invasion!

June 6, 1944 : D-day
The untested 29th Infantry Division, joined by nine companies of U.S. Army Rangers redirected from Pointe du Hoc, were to assault the western half of the beach. The battle-hardened 1st Infantry Division was given the eastern half. The initial assault waves, consisting of tanks, infantry, and combat engineer forces, were carefully planned to reduce the coastal defences and allow the larger ships of the follow-up waves to land.
German machine gun fire devastated the allied forces and the term “War is hell” was certainly applied here.

Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
Yay! Pics!
That, looks really awesome DY! The water has been made nicely, the sand is layered, and the mountain looks pretty realistic. The boat and the bunker are also nice, and you followed what the real thing was like by putting some of those spiky things in the ground and some blood. I think you did a great job on this!

Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
Very nearly a perfect moc, the only thing missing is the ropes that the US soldiers should be climbing up the cliff with. Otherwise, seriously gobsmacking stuff.
Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
Fantastic work, I love it.

I looove the blood effects in the waves. There are not a lot of U.S. Troops though.

There are 15....
I spent more than 50 bucks putting them together.
Re: Omaha Beach Invasion

Yet not frontpaged...
15? Oh, I couldn't see some of them. There should be a little more scaling the cliff though. Whatever though, I like the fence on the cliff.
Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
Do you have a brain? Nobody with the ability to actually put it on the portal has been on in a couple hours since it was posted here.

Dy, DP, Revo, Jinja, Zeph and Rook have all been on.
DY: Turn it into a SW version with rebels assualting an imperial bunker, that would be awesome.

MOC of the Month has to be Star Wars. Anyways, this is beautiful. The waves are brilliant, and all the special barely seen parts are what make this great. Could you tell an estimate of how many pieces there are, and how much you spent on this?

You totally ripped that off from me.Darth Yoda wrote:Without further ado, Let me Present to all of you.....

The rocks aren't really impressive, but I love the waves and the blood effects in the water.

This thing is freaking beast! I saw this on Flickr a while ago. Great build!
Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
I really like how the water turned out in this moc. The blood in it was a nice touch. I feel however if you threw in another boat on the side you'd get a better sense of the invasion. The rocks weren't perfect, but they'll do
I also really liked the bunker and barbed wire near it.

Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
Amazing work. I loved the barb wire on the hill, and the water effect. Next time I go to lego store I will take a mess of the small pieces instead. It seems they come in handy when making detailed MOCs.
Great job!
Great job!
Re: Omaha Beach Invasion
This is amazing! It's got everything it needs - the boat, the bunker and what-not - you actually used trans-bricks for the water, and the scene itself is well set. Love it!
