High Fence Technique?

Not very SW-ey, but I need a tall fence (12-ish studs high) in a shape. Obviously the technic piece that is shaped exactly like that would be a good idea, but the practicality of fitting long lightsaber blades with technic pins is zero.

Any suggestions?

What about using hoses in combination with the technic piece?
