Starting to shape up. With all that plating there, the ship can still open right? Good work! Wink Smile

Yes it can still open. That is the main goal of the ship.

Thanks CC007. I hope to get started on the rest of the plates, and finish the one engine this weekend. I might need to bricklink some plates in the right size/color though.

Update, and sorry to staff for double posting. The greebles started on one side. I ran out of plates for the other side. So I will have to bricklink.

The greebling so far is okay, but I think it would look better if you used a variety of different pieces for the greebles as this is a starship. Wink Smile

I might do that, but those are the two most greeble like parts I have in large amounts. That is also where I went wrong with the venator though. It looked to messy and random. Wink

Maybe if you try doing what I do. I like to have both sides of a ship look even (unless it's blown up) and what I do is I see what pieces I have and I sort each one and count how many I have for the same piece and use an even amount for both sides. Wink

I might try that, but I want to see how looks when the other side is done.

I'm sorry, but it is not going well. The plates keep breaking, and a lack of parts. I might try the project again later though. Right now I'm going to do smaller builds, and might make a big ship every now and then. Smile

Since I am sorting my lego, I found some more pieces that are needed. So the project is back on.

Update . Sorry for the double post, but I'm redoing the whole interior. Here is a sneekpeek of part of it. It is commander shade's room. Also I got the plates more stable.

Enjoy. Smile

That's an outfit!? I could've swore that was the sig-fig itself being all creepy-like and hovering over one of his men.

Anyway. I like how this thing is turning out! I cant wait to see it finished.

Well this project was a fail. I couldn't find any way to get the plates to stay in place. This is also the first project I called quits. I had fun trying to build it, and learned some new techniques along the way, but just couldn't do it. Expect to see more moc's from me soon, and the start of the acclamator hopefully.

Sad to hear, the ship looked very cool so far. Anyway, just finished my own rather large ship, I can tell you that it needs to be filled with technic brick supports. They give strength and also A LOT of attachment points for the plating. I had to problem with side plating whatsoever (the slopes ones were difficult though) and I can pick up the 1,5 kg of ship with 1 hand without breaking it.
