Here's a representation of the real planet Gliese 581 C, along with a hypothetical moon:

All done with GIMP, with the exception of a modified Jupiter texture... Wink

It's a bit choppy, though I'll assume you're not done yet. Razz

Yeah, the scattered lightning isn't the best, but it doesn't look that bad so far!

The edited version isn't choppy. Wink

And I guess I did fail a bit trying to make the lightning "move".

Re: GIMP/Photoshop Thread

Post by Chaotic Good on Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:42 pm

Well, I thought it time to volunteer something, now that Photoshop seems to be working for me. So, here we go:

This one was done using two versions of the same picture. I used motion blur on one, and then pasted that motorbike over the non-blurred one, removing the outline: and leaving what you see. I'm quite pleased with it.

This one was again to do with pasting and movement, but also replacing the shadow. I'm sort of dissatisfied with this one. It's not too seamless, so I'm working on improving that.

So: what do people think? Am I back on the Photoshop wagon? Or falling off it again?

For the Gazette one, I think you just need to somehow integrate the color of the actual article and the newspaper.

Can someone make a tutorial for if you are take one part of an image and make it the size of the area, for example, an avatar? For GIMP.

Go to 'Image', then go down to 'Scale Image'.

Or find the Scale Image button on the toolbar, whichever you prefer.

I made this in my spare time today. Its not that good but I couldn't find the backround I wanted anywhere.

It could use alot of work but I was having alot of trouble. If anyone knows where I can get a cool red back round that would be awesome. Everything I looked at was girls...and I just don't think that is what I should be using on a lego site.
