Decaled Legion WIP.

Post by Bizzle on Sat Jul 04, 2009 12:34 am

Ok so this is my first ever time decaling anything with water slides. I know the pics are crappy but the light here in California sucks at 10:30 at night. These are the backs of the clones in my legion. I have yet to decide which ones exactly then shall be. Oh and in real life they aren't crooked. They are only crooked because I am trying to touching them as little as possible and the torsos on the legs are crooked.

New pic:

The guy on the left is a regular trooper(the spec ops troopers will have red arms), the guy in the middle is a sniper as can be seen by his helmet and the guy on the far right is the commander

It's looking good, but what about using a clear decal?

They are clear, the lighting is really bad so they look way better in person.

Aren't they the wrong way round? The two lines on the back are on the left of the circle, not the back..have you applied them backwards?

If they're JediSprings, then that would explain it.

Oh wow... I guess I'll have to make sure that doesn'y happen in the future. The first page I printed got jacked up in the printer so I have about 40 back decals I can use.

Dy- Umm ok.

I think I know your problem - have you applied it with the transparent side downwards, towards the torso? If so, that's incorrect, and it probably won't meld to the torso.

Apply it in this sort of way, with the transparent part facing upwards:

Yeah my old template had the back pack attachments wrong. I just made a new more accurate one, let me upload it and post it here. Okay here is the printable version, let me figure out why Corel Draw isn't letting me resize them correctly:

Here is the larger viewable one. Man I need a rest Laughing:

Cg- So you are saying that the way I applied them will cause them to not adhere to the torso therefore causing it to peel right?

JS- Thanks for the diagram.

Quite possibly, and that may be what's causing the peeling. Are you applying them like this?

Umm yes. I am trying to slide the decal off of the paper and on to the torso as much as I can.

No problem, I've been slow on recreating my designs, but I'm getting there. Will post my new Commando decal soon.

They look pretty cool. If only you made them off of the mini fig, and made them like CGs.
