RTT Republic Troop Transport

Post by Uberlag on Wed Mar 12, 2008 6:43 pm

I'm working on a RTT, although I cant figure out how big its supposed to be, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_Troop_Transport wookieepedia claims it fits in a LAAT/c although I still don't know how big that would be, any suggestions/ideas?

Man, I was thinking about creating one myself. Well if you're going the big scale of holding a laat/c (which would be huge) I recommend looking at Rooks laat/c and try to base your models size around that. Personally I would probably do a more scaled down version of it similar to Rooks CR20 or CR25 Dropship.

I'd start with like a Gunship and work from there since the rear end looks just like a Gunship. Also this doesn't carry an Laat/c, it's CARRIED by one, but being a Repulsorlift craft I don't understand WHY? Also the picture on Wookiepedia is of the much LARGER Allience version I believe, looking at the scale of the doors and cockpit, and also considering it's flying past an Imperial Star Destroyer... You stole my thunder. Both of those are good to look at. I think the Official Rep. Attack Ship is slightly smaller then scale which throws people off when they try to build the other 3 ships at are similar. Note: The troop transport is the same as the carrier. Instead of carrying an AT-TE is carries a "box" that holds troops.

I based my Strategic Tank Armored Carrier off of an RTT. I've always like RTT's, but they aren't around very much at all. Sad

Personally I would have liked to see the AT-OT (basiclly an open AT-TE) which is sort of like the RTT in troop ferrying standards. But for help I would recommend what astoria said. Fordo Yo!

reccomend? = recommend MOD

Fixed..... Waaa!

I'm going to attempt an AT-OT and a UT-AT using parts from an old AT-TE and Pod Walkers. I miht have to find more AT-TE cockpit pieces as BOTH these vehicles have variations of the AT-TE's cockpit. Smile Blue Arc

Good luck, I like the idea of it. By the way it's AT-TE, not AT TE. Razz

Having played the Clone Wars game where the RTT's do make an appearance, I really look forward to seeing this. Also, on the size, they are carried by LAAT/c's and are around the length of an AT-TE. Maybe slightly smaller.

Good luck on this!

RTT, or something to that effect, is done! sadly my camera still is broken, I'll have to resist the urge to destroy it until I get a new one..

I still don't quite understand why this vehicle exists as the role it plays is carried out by many other types of Republic craft, but it's still a cool looking vehicle nontheless. Wink Blue Arc

Thor is going OK I guess, the legs need more stability though, I disassembled the legs, but I am experimenting. I have spring break this week, so expect something around Sat/Sunday of this week.
