You are talking about SEV, the one with the red streaks on his helmet, right? Scorch has yellow.

Being a "Tool" 101
I'm a tool! Ok, it's not what you think. Building Lego requires "tools". You were born with hands, teeth, & your brain. But I wouldn't consider these "tools". Sometimes you need a tool to build/destroy with Lego.
Example: The brick separator.

I several types of tools to build/destroy I'll post them tomorrow in this post. I made a new "tool" the yesterday the works great. I'll post it as soon I take some pictures of it, too. Until then feel free to post pictures and explanations of your "tools" that you use for building/destroying.

My tool for building is me! My tool for destroying is my brother!

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Then I would ask that you post a picture of your brother on a leash destroying and sorting Lego. Thanks.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
He would probably object to the leash bit, and sort them HA! But I could post a pic of him smashing one of my MOCS...
P.S. I DO know that this isn't what you meant by tools used for building and destroying Lego, I just can't resist the urge to misinterpret!

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
I havn't seen him around for a while. Rook, thank's again! I don't know what else to say. I think that once your done you should have a contest and see if we used all of you're ideas. You'd be the judge, and see if we really used the correct colors, didn't stray from one group of colors, and so on!

I'm BIGGER than him so he doesn't have a lot to say about it.

P.S. I'll bug him about not showing up for awhile!

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Being a "Tool" 101 (Continued)
Every has probably figured out how to get most technic pieces in and out of their slots. But here's a little trick that you may or may not know:
Use a little tube or pole.

Normally, you can't push this technic piece out of the corner easily.

Using the pole/tube can be tricky. Some stick together and others slide in and out with ease. Use the sticky one to pull pieces out & use the loose one to slide pieces into place.

Can't reach a hole because another piece is in the way. Find another angle.

Being a "Tool" 101 (Continued)
Ever built something and realized you wanted to add something to it but you just can't reach it any more?
Say you want to put this...

... inside of here but you only have access from the top. (I've left the sides open of course so you can see what's going on "inside".)

Here's the tool.

This is how it works.

Place piece on end.

Slide through opening.

Push down firmly & pull sheath back.

Repeat for other pieces or assemble small set of pieces and place in all at once.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
That are some really nice idea's! I hate it when I have to take apart a MOC when I need to put something inside. This might help!

Might use it? I hope everyone uses it if they don't have something better.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
In the past I've used tools built out of standard bricks, I often had a problem with the "tool" breaking at the absolute WRONG time!

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Yep, that will happen sometimes. That's why I have perfected the inserting tool. I'm working on some new types.
