Lack insight, reasoning, and logic. These ideas seem to be rare in many people. Common sense is not common.

ESPECIALLY if you go to Highschool!

.
If your friends are like mine they won't care, most even think it's cool, the ones you have to worry about are the idiots who think it's cool to tease other people (which admittedly, is most people, especially preps and jocks.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
In college you should be better. Your room mate will think that you're cool probably, and think it's cooler that you build well with lego.
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
If you go to college for an art degree most of the people won't think anything about it. However, when you're on your first date I wouldn't mention it. Let them get to know you and then tell them what you do in your spare time.
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
My friends don't even know I play with lego.. let's keep it that way.
I think, that when I go to highschool I might grew out of Lego. I hope not, but you can't do anything about it, can you?

Don't worry if you do. Keep you legos and one day in your 20's, 30's, or 40's you'll find the box. And then you might just find the spark again. It'll bing back good memories of your youth and then you'll go... oh ship! I'm an "AFOL".
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Make that boxes.. I don't even dare to put my SW lego with my standard lego... my dad did once, I didn't notice, and now some small sets have been used in all kinds of MOCs
Luckily it were some of those early battle packs, those with 2/3 figs and a small scene.

^I've never been on a date, so I don't have to worry about it.

See you can't just walk up to some one and say I'm an "AFOL". They will think yes, you are "A Fool", that's nice now stop talking to me.

So true, I think if you walked up to someone in MY school and said I'm an AFOL then they'd sit their dumbfounded because you shorted out their remaining brain cells.

I hope so!
My parents also let me only but Lego if it's starwars, the chance is small I can buy something from a other set or so. That's not really fun.

Building Your Brain 101
Do you want to be a better builder? How do I become a better builder?
Use your brain!
What do you mean?
Here are some exercises on how to be a better builder.
Do the following:
Complete TECHNIC 101, Stability with LEGO TECHNIC, & Gearing 101
(If you don't have a Lego.com account set one up so you can take the quizes.)
http://technic.lego.com/technicdesignschool/default.asp
Read the following:
Read all sections and subsections.
http://www.seriousplay.com/
Try the following:
Buy & Build a small (10-100 pieces) set just by looking at the box's cover picture. Don't open the instruction booklet! When you're done open the booklet and compare. Next time try it with a medium (100-300 pieces) set. (I've never tried a large (300+ pieces) set.) This works best with a set that you've never built. However, you can also try this by ripping apart a set that you have built before but this time put it together just from memory or if it's too large try it with just the box picture.
Finally find something in the "real" world and try to build it out of Lego in micro, minifig, & UC scales. I.E. Car, Bed, or Kitchen Table/Chair .
How does this work? What does it mean? Trying new things causes your brain to make new pathways in your brain. The more you use it the better it becomes. Faster, stronger, smarter!
Good Luck and Keep Building!

You were a little too fast there DP. I wasn't finished. When I do these posts there's a lot info. So I often post the majority of it and then edit in some details. It's too easy to lose a page, and then you're typing for 20 minutes all over again.
Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Build your brain, that's WAY awesome! I will definetly do that!

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
DP, why would your parents only let you buy SW lego?
That seems kind of weird.

Re: Lego Art & Design Principles 101
Yeah and sad.
I collect almost ALL Lego themes so only buying Starwars would wipe out like 90% of my collection. Why do your parents have that rule, if you don't mind my asking?

Te he...
That would be funny. I only buy SW lego too. Except for stuff for my SBLF comics and story.
