A Mine in the Mountains...

Post by 80-0 on Sat Nov 08, 2008 7:31 pm

Well, this is my huge WIP Mountain Mine. It's a(as the title suggests) Mine in which Dwarfs work at digging up precious metals over a ravine. I only have three pics right now but it's really detailed, and took I dunno, around two months of off and on, ever other day work.

Basic view

Waterfall trickles down the mountainside

Close up of details

And if you have Flickr, leave comments and notes! I check my Flickr page for activity as often as I do CABG! Smile

Shouldn't the waterfall be in trans-blue and clear? I think there may be some bricks in those colors you could utilise. Off to Bricklink!

Yes; actually I used them because it's distinctly dark water as it's inside a cavern, and I built a whole river inside there with dark blue studless bricks from the Droid Gunship. Wink

Next time I go to a Lego Store I'm going to the PAB shelf and I won't leave deprived.

I don't have any 4x4s those are really rare, but I do have about 50 2x1 clear plates, 15 1x2 clear bricks, and 30 2x1 clear blue bricks. Also besides getting those at PaB get a bunch of grass pieces, and what not. Just thinking about it makes me want to go to that special wall... Shocked

The ones that have three stalks, and can fit purdy flowers on them... I think Zeph has quite a few. Well, PaB also has those big rock walls, and tons of other stuff I'm sure you should find useful. Wink

I'm gonna get some more pics and upload them to the CABG server because I'm so impatient; I already used about 10 varying rock wall pieces in the very construction of the mine itself. Shocked

I once did a mountain mine model a few years ago. Main differances were it was about 3 times bigger than this one and was about Vikings! Still, quality not quantity and yours is very impressive! Smile

LURPS? Beggin' your pardon but that's just the one Lego term I never got the hang of; BURPs included. Embarassed

Also, thanks for the report. Wink
