Question though to any GIMPer: Is there a text tutorial? I could use one; every time I go back to GIMP I can't recall how to install text, or how to space it.

I whipped up this tutorial for those who needed help with the GIMP.

Here's my muzzle flare and laser tutorial.

First grab the brush tool and draw a red circle.


Now get the smudge tool and do it like so.


Repeat with yellow and white.

Here is another tutorial on lasers...


Use the Freehand tool to make this shape, and color it in with a white brush.




Do both the Midtones and the Highlites.


Use the smudge tool to soften any angles.

Aaah, I love you. I can figure out lighting, blurs, distorts, cropping, selecting, text-bubbling, colorizing and more... but I could never figure out blaster bolts .

You have to put them on an image hosting site first like Brickshelf.

Wow I didn't think I'd get this many comments!
