Venator

Post  Knight on Thu Oct 22, 2009 3:42 pm

Hi everyone. This is my first post as a guild member. It is by far my best moc yet the venator! It is 4ft long, and it took five and a half months to finish. In those five and a half months was the planning, version 1 (version 1 was a fail Razz ), and version 2. I will work on it over time, like making better engines, and the bridge, ect...

Amazing simply amazing! Your venator looks pretty good although the random pieces on the sides don't really stand out to me. Also welcome to the guild! A toast!

I'm not liking the bridge, the sides, and some of the odd white color along the sides. I do appreciate the scale of this, but it just kinda looks off to me.

The white is just the frame. I used any beams left to cover it up. The other reason it is all white is because this is made of three isd's, some clone bp's, and some spare parts in bins.

@ Rook thanks.

Yes, but it looks off. And the end wings are extending farther than the side plates, leaving an unhealthy gap.

I know the gap is big, but it is how the plates come down. In version 1 the plates came up, so it closed all the gaps, but it broke all the time. Either way I will try to fix that also.

Post  Gerrard on Thu Oct 22, 2009 4:32 pm

Here are just some of my comments.

1. There are just too little greebles. It was probably hard since it was so high, but still try to get more.
2. The whole thing is just a bit to high and thick, make it thinner so you don't have to spread the greebles out.
3. The bridge just looks a bit awkward, try getting it a bit shorter and a bit more detailed.

Other than that this thing is amazing! Very nice first post as a guidlie, well done!

That's one large guild entry!

Size aside, the MOC is pretty decent. It's a bit too thick, and like others have said the bridge needs work.

Thanks Gerrard, and TB. I already lowered the height before, (It was twice as high when it was a wip.) so I don't think I will again. Overall thanks for the comments. Smile

Wow that looks awesome 501st Commando, it has great greebling and detail on it, like others said though the bridge is a little weird, the side seems too greebled, and the turbolasers seem a little small(I don't think anyone has said that yet), but its still looks amazing, also congrats on getting in the guild.

First of all, welcome to the guild! Now for the Venator. The size and shape is pretty good, although I must agree that the bridge could use some work. Also, I don't really like the greebles on the side as they are put on a bit too randomly. If the other side looked exactly the same, it would look okay though. Do both sides look exactly the same? Some parts yes, and some parts no. Most of the spots are random Razz , besides the corners. Wink
