Desert Assault Transport / AA gun

Post  fjords94 on Fri Jun 19, 2009 2:48 pm

The Desert Assault Transport:
Used for engagements in sandy, dry, or barren terrain.
Walks on four legs and then spreads them out and latches on to the ground for stability while firing it's artillery piece.

Picture of the DAT walking.

And here it is in firing position.

(Sorry for the crap pics. I was just about to upload them to my computer when my camera ran out of batteries, so I used my phone.)

Comments are much appreciated!

It's cute. The gun design is fantastic.

Thicker legs would be better but I can just see it on the battlefield. Great design!

It's actually pretty good Smile . But I would keep the design in mind and make the whole thing a little bit bigger.

What you need to do is take two more battle droid arms(bent still) and attach them from the dk. grey piece to the battle droid body's two arm nubs.

Gun design is quite good, but perhaps put some side plates on the cockpit, as he could be easily sniped, I'm afraid.

That is actually pretty cool, I really like the design, but the only thing i think you could do better is properly the legs. Smile

I just wonder, why is something with such a relatively inconvenient method of transport(the scrawny legs) called an 'Assault Transport?' Just a thought.

You know, at first I just wanted it to be a turret or big gun of some sort. But then I said to myself "It's a republic vehicle, it should walk!" So I added the legs, scrawny as they may be.

And by popular demand, I will now go add more parts to the legs and bulk it up.
